From 1901 Census for 22 Darlington Street, Thornaby. William Ward, age 22, born Moulton Yorkshire, single, Platelayer Railway, worker. Was a Board er at this address. Ecclesiasical Parish Thornaby St.Pauls. Civil Parish Thornaby-on-Tees.

Note: Moulton Yorks (Pop 236 in 1890), near Middleton Tyas, Wapentake of Gilling East, 4 miles ENE of Richmond. Village Moulton has Old Chapel of Ease. Was erected in 1838 by the late Mr Ward, Secretary to the Bishop of Chester (according to Genuki 1890). There is also a Wesleyan Chapel in Village.

At time of his marriage to Alice Maud Butler on the 8 December 1902, William Ward lived at 33 Russell Street, Thornaby. His occupation was Plate Layer.

From 1911 Census lived at 14 Stanley Grove, Thornaby-on-Tees. Was Blast Furnaceman, Mine Fitter.

William Ward died (Saturday) 22 April 1911 aged 32 years. Registration No. 9d 398 Middlesbrough.

From Death Certificate, William Ward died Twenty Second April 1911 at 14 Staney Grove, Thornaby-on-Tees. Age 32 years, Mine Fitter. Cause of death Acute pneumonia accelerated by a Sprain accidentlly received through a mine barrow sticking between the Floor plates at the Tees Bridge Iron Works. Certificate received from Osward H. Cochrane Coroner for Langbaurgh North. Inquest held First May 1911. Registered First May 1911. Registration District Middlesbrough, Death in Sub-district Thornaby in the County of York.

Death entry in Evening Gazette on Tuesday April 25, 1911:
Ward - on the 22nd inst at 14 Stanly Grove Thornaby. William beloved husband of Alice Maud Ward
age 32. Internment on Wednesday at 3PM. Friends please accept this (the only) intimation.

Buried on Wednesday 26th April 1911 at 3PM at Thornaby Cemetary.

Inquest hels 1 May 1911.
