Known as Wardman.

Evening Gazette newspaper for December 1948 show that he was Cremated , after a Church service at
St. Barnabas Church, Middlesbrough.

However on the Gravestone of his parents he is listed.
The ashes could have been put in grave after Cremation.
Inscription reads :
in loving memory of
James Brown,
Died 22nd October 1919, aged 44 years.
Also James Wardman, son of the above
Died 2nd December 1948, aged 47 years.
also Elizabeth Alice, wife of James Brown
and mother of James Wardman,
Died 29th September 1962 aged 84 years.

Originally worked in family business for Wesley Brown but quit and we nt to Russia in the nineteen thirties. Joined the RAF in 1938 and ser v ed in Greece and other places. Commanded 608 Squadron at Thornaby i n 194 6. Born 1910 and died 1976. Was in the RAF Auxilary.

Owned Oil Company among other busineses. Driving force in the Family business.
Was oldest child and never Married. Small in statue and not nice to know.

Funeral at Acklam Cemetery Middlesbrough on Saturday following a service at St. Barnabas Church at noon.

Gravesite near Church of Rememberence, Central Square, under tree. Double grave in Granite with Granite surround 3 yds x 3 yds. Planted wit h Shru bs in form of Cross.
